Curriculum vitae
Carlos Olivo Senior Software Engineer
Backend engineer by trade, comfortable across the stack. I like taking a real problem from idea to production, end to end, with APIs that scale, systems that react to events and complex provider integrations.
01Journey
From a first game to products in production
01Dominican Republic · Age 14
It started with a game.
I taught myself to code at 14 by building a small platformer. Someone who played it referred me to the company where he worked.
02Softone · 2019
Software a business runs on.
My first professional work was a desktop ERP. It taught me that people depend on software every day, so it has to be clear, reliable and easy to use.
03ITelle · 2020
Leading, shipping, operating.
My first time leading a team, across very different projects, from publishing mobile apps to the stores to deploying them and keeping them running.
04Remote · 2022
Going remote.
First with Drimo and then with ListoApp (Chile), on mobile apps and platforms that serve several kinds of users on shared infrastructure.
05Georgia, United States · 2024
A new base.
I moved to the United States and kept building remotely, now focused on hotel connectivity at PriceTravel.

PriceTravel Holding Backend Developer · Hotel Connectivity & Quoting
Own hotel provider connectivity and the data paths behind the quoting engine, working with the quoting team on accuracy and response time.
What I improved
- Connected five new hotel providers, including SiteMinder and TravelClick, with rates and availability synced in real time.
- Made the existing integrations with major industry providers, such as Hotelbeds and Expedia, more reliable.
- Redesigned how exchange rates and promotions are calculated with a cache on AWS, which sped up quotes and reduced database load.
- Improved currency conversion accuracy together with the quoting team.

ListoApp (Chile) Backend Developer · SaaS Platforms & Cloud
Backend and cloud work for the company's SaaS products and client platforms, from API design to performance and deployments.
What I improved
- Made serverless services on AWS start 50% faster by bundling them before deployment.
- Designed a notification system that tells each party when something changes, without them having to check.
- Built the backend for Sektor.app, a platform shared by insurers, providers and agents where each one sees only their own data.
- Built the backend for Centuria.app, which organizes networks of people with different roles, their activities and their tasks.
- Developed a real-time API in Go that gathers results from 128 sources and sends a single update per change.
- Automated deployments to AWS from GitHub.

Let's talk. I'll reply myself.
Open to backend, platform and end-to-end product roles, remote or hybrid. If your team is solving a concrete problem, I'd like to hear about it.
